Marissa has had a love for animals since childhood and that passion has led her into the career of Vet Nursing, working with racehorses and pet grooming.
Marissa has 11 years experience as a professional Dog Groomer having learnt as an apprentice from a Show Groomer and previously a Vet Nurse you can be sure your pets are in the best of care along with quality service.
Marissa grooms all dog breeds and all breed style clips and additional requests from the pet owner.
Marissa can groom all breeds of cats also from a simple wash and blow dry to lion clips.
Marissa is available for grooms at Beecroft Vet every Monday to Thursday, and every second Saturday.
Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)
Having a background in the equine industry, Debbi has completed her bachelor of horse management and ran her own agisting, breaking and training business.
Debbi has been a small animal veterinary nursing for the last five years, and is currently in the process of completing her bachelor of veterinary technician degree.
When not at work, Debbi likes spending time with her two beautiful humans, cuddling her Great Dane and training and eventing her horses.
Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV)
Eden Heesom is a veterinary nurse with more then 3 years experience in the field. She graduated Ultimo Collage aged 18 from Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, and attained a certificate in animal studies and wild life care.
She has worked as a locum previously for over a year and during this time saw many emergency and specialist cases. Previously she has worked for a year at a small animal practice.
Eden enjoys hospital inpatient care, and making all the animals as happy as possible while they recover.
When not in uniform, Eden loves spending time with her cat Scout who has just turned 1. She also enjoys painting on canvas, and trying not to be the worst horse rider in Sydney.
Dr. Karim Chammas
BVSc. MANZCVS (Feline)
Karim graduated from the University of Sydney in 2009. He has worked in several busy small animal practices in Sydney’s North West. Karim has undertaken further studies in ultrasound, radiology, oncology and feline medicine. He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in feline medicine.
Karim really enjoys developing lasting relationships with clients often built on trust and a common goal to better the well-being of animals. He has an equal appreciation of both medicine and surgery and views them as complementary in a successful outcome to many disease processes.
Karim has owned many dogs, cats, turtles and fish. As a result of his last dog Cleopatra, he has developed a soft spot for Shih Tzu’s. Currently his revolving zoo contains a rescued bird and 3 fat guinea pigs.
Abigail lived on a farm in Wales for 7 years, where she found her passion for animals, gaining knowledge and experience in interacting with them. She thoroughly enjoyed feeding the lambs.
Having a love for animals, Abigail and a friend set up a dog walking business in the local area, where she continues to walk dogs.
After many months of work experience here at Beecroft Vet, Abigail has joined the team as an Animal Attendant.
With 2 cats and a fish, she has a great passion for animal care and really enjoys working with them. When not attending to animals, Abigail enjoys music, specifically playing the violin.
